We are the unusual buyer for Jack's, I am guessing.. we live in Idaho across the nation..  YET it was great to work with these people. it wasn't just a simple filling the slots and check the list.. type of a deal..  This was a phone call make sure we got what we really NEEDED.. and talk to about the fact it was coming across the country.  After everything was taking care of.. dotting the i's and crossing the t's..  they had it shipped to us..  The ironic part was.. our snowblower got stuck in a snowstorm.. and was in Fargo a couple days..  but it was finally delivered.. And my husband did the trimming back of the 3 feet of snow we had and bermed the best we could  until the blower arrived.. It handle it well..  and even more ironic... is we haven't had any more snow.. ha ha..  Ever pleased with Jack's.. they went the extra mile literally to make sure it was what we wanted and how we wanted it.. We definitely would recommend them..... and if you are wondering why did people in Idaho order one from the East coast..  it is because of the heavy snow we had...there were none available any state near us.

Excellent snowblower.  I love the two wheel drive especially given that there is a substantial slope on my drive, so it used to be difficult to clear when there is ice below the snow.  I thought the power steering might be a bit over the top, but it is actually quite nice to have.  Only downside is the one reverse gear is rather slow, wish there was a higher speed reverse setting.  And, they could have mounted the worklight higher on the unit to provide better lighting at night. An amazing machine for the price.

I purchased a Husquarvana snow blower and since it's October, I haven't used it yet.  However, Jack's had solid customer service and competitive pricing.  The folks on the phone were also very helpful, knowledge able and friendly and ya gotta like that.  One suggestion I would make would be to inform customers when ordering that if they don't have a receiving dock and it's a heavy item, like a 2 stage snow blower, the shipping isn't really free.  There's a fee for a truck with a lift.

So I'd say Jack's did a darn decent job other than the $50 shipping fee I was not notified about until after i/ placed the order.

Seems to be a very heavy duty machine, starts right up, no issues.

Although I haven't had a chance to use the snow thrower yet, I really like the features like having the chute controls right there with all the power controls.  You don't have bend down and turn a crank - just flip the levers.  Great idea.  Also like all the other features like electric start, headlights and heated hand grips.  Also, having the engine oil drain accessible will be handy when time to change the oil.

The only feature I don't like is the fact that the two wheels are locked to the axle making moving the machine around difficult.  You.really have to wrestle with it to turn a radius.

Hate to say this, but I can't wait for it to snow so I can actually use the new machine.

Very pleased with the snowblower. This my fourth. I tried a different approach this time, going for quality, and I think I got it. Also, it got here amazingly fast. Haven't fired it up yet, waiting for snow. Didn't want the gas to bad in it. I was looking for some heavy duty tines in front, and these look quite sturdy. I made my own driveways, kind of rough on tines. I will clear the sticks, and adjust the height, hoping that will help. Will add to my review once I use it.

What a machine, received delivery, if you're getting this unit shipped I recommend the lift gate service, it's heavy. Followed the easy directions for assembly, it took no more than a half hour, topped of the oil, added gas, and it started right up.
Runs great, now all it has to do is snow, I can't believe I actually want it to snow.
Great snow blower.

Ralph, the Husqvarna ST224 (961930096) does not have the power steering option. Its comparable model, the ST224 P (961930122), is equipped with power steering, and probably more cost effective to purchase the unit with power steering than alternatively trying to retrofit the option on a unit without power steering.

Hello, Can you explain the difference in the st224/ and the st224p/ st24le. I see the prices are different but spec. look the same. Is one better then the other or just different model year? The drive is the same ? Also would your delivery come to garage door or just drop off at main road?

Answer:
Jeff, the biggest difference among the Husqvarna ST224, ST224P , and Ariens Deluxe 24" is the steering technology. The Husqvarna ST224P is equipped with Power Steering, whereas the ST224 is not. The Ariens Deluxe 24" (ST24le) features Auto-Turn steering technology, which senses a change in direction automatically, adjusting power to the inside wheel to turn easier. Both Husqvarna models and the Ariens Deluxe 24" have a 6-speed friction-disc drive transmission. Since these snowblowers ship via freight truck, adding lift gate service during checkout is recommended to unload the unit.

How does this item ship? Is assembly required.

The Husqvarna ST224 snow blower does require some assembly before use. Installing the handle assembly, discharge chute, and adding oil is required, as well as other pre-operation checks you'll need to perform before starting. Plus, don't forget to use fresh fuel with a fuel stabilizer to keep your fuel system clean. Please refer to the ST224 Owner's Manual for complete instructions.
